Footy star Paul Vaughan hosts a house party with up to a dozen teammates in breach of Sydney's lockdown - sparking huge NRL investigation

NRL stars are under investigation for allegedly ignoring Sydney's lockdown rules and going to a house party hosted by Paul Vaughan.

The St George Illawarra Dragons confirmed on Sunday morning that a number of players were involved in a biosecurity breach.

Under current regulations, players are required to stay at home unless they are playing, training or 'completing an essential household task' under strict rules to quash Sydney's Covid-19 outbreak.

Footballers and officials are banned from inviting others to their homes.

'St George Illawarra are aware of a New South Wales state government stay-at-home order and NRLe biosecurity breach involving a number of players,' a statement read.

'The Dragons will not make comment at this time, while the investigation into the matter with the NRL Integrity Unit and NSW Police continues.

Sports reporter Danny Weilder was the first to break the news on Twitter.

'NRL sources say six players – I've heard many more – closer to a dozen,' he wrote.
