MOHALI: Four unidentified masked men looted the petrol pump at gun point in Mohali in the wee hours on Sunday. They looted the manager of Rs 80,000 at Bheem Filling station, Sahoran village on Kurali road Kharar, said the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Rupinderdeep Kaur Sohi.
DSP Rupinderdeep Kaur said that the incident occurred at around 2.15 am on Sunday when four unidentified men came in a white car at the petrol pump and fled after looting cash. She said that the case has been registered following complaint of manager Amit Sharma.
According to police, the complainant alleged that at around 2.15am when an oil tanker reached the petrol pump and was being decanted in the underground storage tank, four men came in a white car. Three came out of the car were masked and armed with guns. They forced their entry into manager’s room and decamped with Rs 80,000 cash. They also threatened employees with dire consequences if they raised any alarm.
DSP Sohi said that the police have registered a case under sections 307, 392, 34 of IPC and under sections 25/54/59 of the arms act at Sadar police station Kharar. She said that CCTV footages are being examined from the petrol pump as well at the other nearby places to spot the white car.
She said that police will soon find the route followed by the car after the crime.
On May 18, this year, seven unidentified men thrashed and looted Rs 50,000 from two employees of petrol pump in Sanauli in Zirakpur. Both the employees were seriously injured. Police is yet to trace the culprits in this case.
