As Delhi witnessing a drop in Covid cases, the Delhi government has allowed reopening sports complexes from Monday, meanwhile, Cinema halls, multiplexes, swimming pools, schools, colleges, spa, political, social, religious, and other such gatherings will remain shut till further order.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the sports facilities in Delhi will function normally from Monday onwards. Earlier, sports complexes, stadiums were opened up only for the athletes who are training for national and international competitions.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) said, people, need to pay more attention while stepping out, authority has asked people to follow all the Covid protocols like social distancing, wearing masks and other important covid related guidelines.
Last week, the DDMA has permitted gyms and yoga institutes to reopen at half of their capacity, while weddings at banquet and halls and hotels were asked to operate at 50 percent capacity.
From June 14, malls, shops and restaurants had been allowed in Delhi to function with full focus on Covid norms. Weekly bazaars also permitted to function with appropriate Covid behavior.
Delhi was under a complete lockdown from April 19 to May 30, following which it has been opening up in a phased manner.
Delhi is one of the worst-hit city by Covid second wave, under which the city has witnessed a huge spike in Covid cases with a huge number of fatalities rate. The Covid situation of Delhi is getting better with each day passing. According to the health ministry data on Saturday, Delhi has r reported 86 fresh Covid cases with five Covid related deaths.
