Farmers agitating against the three contentious farm laws passed by the Modi government have threatened to stage protest outside Parliament House everyday during the monsoon session.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) announced it on Sunday at a press conference. The union leaders also said that they would write to to all the Members of Parliament (MPs) belonging to opposition parties urging them to protest against the three farm laws inside both Houses of Parliament each day during the session.

“We will also ask the opposition MPs to raise the issue every day inside the House while we sit outside in protest. We will ask them not allow the government a free run by walking out. Don't let the House function till the government addresses this issue," farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni said.

Chaduni said that five people each from over 40 farmer unions would join the protest outside Parliament. The monsoon session of Parliament is scheduled to be held from July 19 to August 13.

However, it is unlikely that police and security agencies would permit any sort of crowding or agitation near the Parliament house during the session.

Parliament house is provided with multiple layers of security during a session and security near Parliament house too is heightened with restrictions on movement of traffic and people.

Farmers have been camping at Delhi's borders since November last year, asking the Modi government to repeal the three farm laws that it bulldozed in Parliament. The Supreme Court has stayed the laws but the government has not offered to withdraw them despite several rounds of talks with the agitating farmers.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha has also called for a protest on July 8 against rising fuel prices.
