Qld records single local COVID-19 case

Queensland has recorded a single local COVID-19 case overnight as residents in Brisbane and Moreton Bay ready for their first full day without a lockdown.

The state has also recorded an additional case detected in hotel quarantine and acquired overseas.

Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the case of community transmission was linked to the Greek community centre and Portuguese restaurant previously identified as exposure sites.

"It appears that everything is under control at this point in time," Ms Palaszczuk said. "We are very, very relieved about that."

The premier flagged there was a close contact linked to the community centre that was "under investigation" and that she would keep the state abreast of any additional cases and exposure sites.

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said a previously reported COVID-19 case has since been deemed a false positive.

"I mentioned the worker at the domestic terminal of Brisbane Airport who tested positive on a surveillance test," she said.

"We have gone and done repeat testing, multiple repeat testing on different platforms and it has confirmed that that was a false positive."

The number of active cases in the state is 46.

Compulsory mask wearing will remain in place in a number of local government areas in Queensland until July 16.
