Lucknow, Jul 4 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh's condition turned critical and he is likely to be shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) from Lohia Institute here on Sunday.
Kalyan Singh's PRO Alok Srivastava said that he would be shifted to Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow as his health is not improving.
Mr Singh was admitted to the Lohia Institute on Saturday night after he complained of body swelling. Currently, he is in the ICU.
Preparations have been made to admit Kalyan Singh to the critical care medicine ward of SGPGIMS.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached the Lohia Institute and enquired about his condition from the doctors. State Medical Education Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna also reached there immediately after receiving information about Kalyan Singh's deteriorating health and met the doctors treating him.
Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh, who was in the city, also visited the Lohia Institute along with State BJP president Swantra Deo Singh to enquire about the health of Kalyan Singh.
Many other politicians have also visited the hospital to enquire about his health.
Doctors said the condition of Kalyan Singh remains very critical. At present, Kalyan Singh is unable to recognize anyone. His memory power has been reduced owing to a brain stroke.
