Indian skipper Mithali Raj is the leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket

Indian women’s limited-overs skipper Mithali Raj becomes the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket with scoring 10,337 runs. She and England batsman Charlotte Edwards are the only players to reach 10,000 runs mark in women’s international cricket. Mithali is the only player with a batting average over 50 among the top ten run-scorer in ODIs format.

The Indian skipper also surpassed Belinda Clarke’s 83 wins record as a captain in women’s ODIs. She has scored 54 fifties as captain (five hundred, 49 fifties), also the most of any player while in charge.
Mithali Raj had made her debut when she was 16 years old against Ireland in 1999. She had knocked unbeaten 114 in that game by which she earned the title of the youngest centurion in international cricket, among men or women.
The second-highest run-scorer is England’s batsman Charlotte Edwards with 10,273 runs. The third spot is taken by New Zealand’s batsman Suzie Bates with 7,849 runs in women’s international cricket. After her, comes the West Indies’ batsman Stefanie Taylor with 7,818 runs.
The fifth place is marked by the Australian batsman Meg Lanning with 7,024 runs in women’s international cricket. Mithali also became the first player to complete 7000 runs in women’s ODIs on March 14 2021. She had also reached the 6000 runs mark first in women’s ODIs on July 12 2017. She had also broken Anu Jain’s 2710 runs record on November 21, 2005.
