Police: Woman arrested in connection with Middletown shooting

A woman has been arrested and charged following a shooting in Middletown, Ohio late Saturday night. 

Jasmine Foster, 39, is charged with felonious assault after allegedly shooting another woman in the back, according to a release from the Middletown Division of Police. 

Officers responded around 11:39 p.m. to Kettering Hospital for a victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound, police said. 

The victim, Tyjhana Walton, told police that an altercation ensued while she was sitting in a car at the 1900 block of Minnesota Street, the release states. 

During the altercation, a gun was fired and Walton was struck in the back, police said, adding she was then driven to the hospital. 

Police said an investigation into the incident identified Foster as the alleged shooter. She has since been booked into the Middletown City Jail.
