I made this rack myself out of 1/4" angle iron and 1/8" square tubing and a mig welder. It's not too difficult if you have the right materials. If you don't have a mig welder, borrow one. Use flux core wire, it's much easier than gas shielded wire.
The more tiers the better in most home gyms, but if you have plenty of space then a 2-tier will have you bending over less. There are tons on the new and used market in the 5-50 range and they'll all do the job.
I have a Dynamic 2-tier saddle rack and a Dynamic storage unit with dumbbell trays. If I was only doing 5-50 I'd probably just use the storage unit trays and not bother with a separate dumbbell rack.
