MUMBAI: Three of the most populated regions of Mumbai --
Dharavi,
Dadar and
Mahim -- have been witnessing a steady decline in the number of
coronavirus cases.
On Saturday, all three areas reported less than 10 new cases of
Covid-19, as informed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
Dharavi -- the largest slum in Asia -- recorded only two fresh cases of the infection. The case count of the slum colony has now climbed to 6,901.
On the other hand, the neighbouring region of Dadar saw three new cases, taking the tally to 9,692.
Mahim, which has the maximum number of Covid-19 cases so far among the three regions, reported seven persons testing positive for the virus on Saturday. The total count has now climbed to 10,014.
Dharavi, Dadar and Mahim fall under the G/North ward of the
BMC. The administrative ward has recorded a total of 26,607 coronavirus cases until now, including 12 from today.
