Sydney man faces string of abuse charges
A man has been charged with 16 child abuse-related offences following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in Sydney's southwest.
Detectives from the Strike Force Mannow opened investigations into reports the girl had been abused in May last year.
Following extensive inquiries, a 30-year-old man was arrested on Friday.
He has been charged with 16 offences in total including grooming a child under 14 years for unlawful sexual activity, intentionally sexually touching a child under 16 and multiple counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child.
Police will allege in court the man sexually assaulted the girl - then aged 13 - on a series of occasions between April and May, 2020.
He was initially refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
