THANE: The
Thane Municipal Corporation on Saturday announced that the lake city is all set to face a 24-hour water cut on July 6, Tuesday.
According to the civic body, the water supply in the city will remain suspended from 9 am on July 6 to 9 am on July 7, due to the ongoing SATIS and smart city project work near the
Kopri area.
The areas which will be affected due to the water cut are Ramnagar, Chendni Koliwada, Naru Paranjape Colony, Subhash Nagar, Anand Bharti Marg,
Kumbharwada, Savarkar Nagar, Swami Samarth Math premises, Valmiki Society and Shramdaan Society.
The civic body also stated that due to the shutdown, the water supply is likely to be maintained at low pressure for next the next couple of days till the previous level is restored. "Thus, the city might receive less water in the next 1-2 days,"
TMC noted.
Officials also requested residents of Thane to keep an adequate amount of water stored to avoid any inconvenience.
"Please store enough water and cooperate with TMC to get the work done quicker and more efficiently," the civic body said.
