Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao on Saturday have announced that they are no longer husband and wife, after 15 years of marriage, the couple decided to live separately. The couple has released an official statement announcing their divorce. The couple said they both will take care of their son Azad Rao Khan.
In a joint statement released by the couple, it said, they both were planning to get separated, but now they feel comfortable formalizing the arrangement of living separately. However, the duo said, they remain good friends and will continue sharing lives the way an extended family does.
Aamir and Kiran’s joint statement said, they both lived 15 beautiful years together, shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, a relationship that has grown in trust, respect and love. Now they would like to begin a new chapter in their lives, no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other.
Statment further said, they will always devote parents to their son Azad, who they will nurture and raise together. We will also continue to work as collaborators on films, Paani Foundation, and other projects that we feel passionate about, the statement added.

The couple first met on the sets Lagaan and fell in love, they got married in December 2005. They welcomed their son Azad Rao Khan in December 2011.
On the work front, Amir Khan is working on his next project Laal Singh Chadha, which is an official Hindi remake of Tom Hank’s acclaimed movie Forrest Gump. The movie is produced by Rao.
