BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh recorded 265,664 vaccinations of the second dose on Saturday, taking the overall vaccination tally to 21,592,413 on the second day of the ongoing three-day vaccination drive.
However, it created confusion among the beneficiaries as they also approached for first doses. But when they visited the vaccination centres (session sites), they were denied vaccination.
Vaccination statistics
Indore led with 45,202 vaccinations and Bhopal recorded 13,875, while Gwalior recorded 9,658 and Jabalpur recorded 22,041. Ujjain recorded 14,333 vaccinations. Sagar recorded 17,472 vaccinations. According to the National Heath Mission, the first dose tally went up to 1.87 crore, while the second dose tally went up to 27 lakh. So , the health department has focused on administering the second dose in the state. This is reason why two out of the three days of the drive have been reserved for the second dose. On Saturday, CovaxinÃs second dose was given, while, on July 5, it will be the second dose of Covishield. The health department had to drop the vaccination plan on July 2 because of a shortage of vaccines.
