Aamir Khan is a single man again. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao got married in 2005 and are now separated 15 years on. The couple announced that they are parting ways but will continue to co-parent their son, Azad. The couple released a joint statement announcing that they were living apart for a while and now the decision has been finalised and they are comfortable declaring the same. They also stated that both Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao would continue to work together for their Paani foundation. The gist of it, they are separated, but will continue to work together for the things that matter.
Now, obviously, Twitter is abuzz with reactions to their separation. Of course, memes and speculations abound and while some of it is funny, some of it is downright disrespectful. On Twitter, Aamir Khan has been trending and several users have alleged that Aamir Khan is promoting his personal brand of love jihad. Because he married his first wife Reena Dutta who was a Hindu and then Kiran Rao who is also a Hindu. Of course, because the internet is a cesspool of disgusting content, there are also mentions of Fatima Sana Sheikh thrown in. The whole thing is quite sad. Here are some of the social media reactions. Please note, not all are tasteful or funny but hey, it’s the internet. It’s sick.

Aamir Khan is the Brand Ambassador of love jihaad.
First Reena Dutta and now Kiran Rao.
A true 'peaceful' inspiration.
Respect to actors like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn.#AamirKhan— Vineet Choudhary (@choudharyvinee_) July 3, 2021

These are the less ugly tweets. There is also an entire trend asking that Aamir Khan be boycotted for his love jihad. We’re not sure why Aamir Khan’s personal business calls for such a boycott but people need more employment in this country. More gainful employment and less access to a computer and the internet.
Aamir Khan is currently in the process of making his remake of the 1994 movie Forrest Gump.
