Mukesh Ambani-owned telecom company Reliance Jio has announced a new service — called Emergency Data Loan — for prepaid customers in the country.

The company says that the service has been launched for those who may run out of high speed daily data quota and are unable to recharge immediately.

Reliance Jio Recharge Now and Pay Later offer: What do users get
As part of this service, Jio allows its users to borrow up to five emergency data loan packs of 1GB each. The value of each pack is Rs 11. Readers must note that this service can be availed until the base plan is valid. This means users will be able to continue to use the additional data until the base plan's validity expires. This essentially means that in order to avail emergency data loan facility users will need to have an active base plan in place.
