Amit Bhasin, General Manager, Legal - Customer Development and Corporate Secretarial at is joining listed consumer goods company Marico as the general counsel and head of legal.
A veteran of over over 18 years, Bhasin had started his career with (DSCL) as Manager Legal in March 2005. In April 2012, he joined Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) as Regional Legal Manager for West India. Subsequently, he rose within the Indian operation of Unilever and at the time of leaving the company, he was General Manager, Legal - Customer Development and Corporate Secretarial.
He has worked on several M&A transactions for Unilever including the merger between the country’s largest fast-moving consumer goods company HUL and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd (GSKCH) in 2018.
He was also part of the Global Competition Law Network for Unilever and was responsible for driving competition awareness and compliance across South Asia for Unilever.
“Given Amit's experience with the consumer behaviour and sales segment at HUL - he enjoys a vantage point and can add immense value to the Marico team,” said Anuja Bose, Associate Principal, Legal and Compliance at search firm Native. “Our internal study suggests that 65% of the leadership moves in the last quarter were within the B2C segment (both consumer and consumer tech).”
