Realme is widely rumored to be working on a new camera flagship smartphone. This phone is expected to be called Realme GT 5G Master Edition and now, we have some more details. The new leak claims that Realme has in fact partnered with Kodak for a collaboration that should result in improved camera performance.

Xu Qi Chase, vice president of Realme, has posted a camera sample image on his Weibo account. The image is undoubtedly from an unreleased phone as the "Shot on Realme" watermark has been blurred to hide the phone's name. Chase has further captioned the image as "Realme Camera Peak" which is clearly meant to tease the fans.

A well-known Weibo-based tipster Digital Chat Station posted that Realme has partnered with a veteran camera manufacturer. He expects the Realme GT 5G Master Edition to be the first smartphone released under the collaboration. He did not mention the name of the camera maker but a separate leaker Bald Panda shared "Realme co-branded Kodak" on the platform.

This is not the first time we are hearing about a smartphone brand teaming up with a camera brand. We have seen such partnerships in the past like Huawei with Leica, Nokia with Zeiss, Vivo with Zeiss, and OnePlus with Hasselblad. These deals do create some buzz for the smartphone companies but results are not necessarily as good as one would expect. Only time will tell if Realme's partnership with Kodal would mean something in terms of camera quality or it will just be another marketing hype.
