Revised Norwegian 2021 budget bumps up rural broadband subsidies by NOK 100 mln

The Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation (KMD) said the government has decided to allocate an extra NOK 100 million in funding to rural broadband expansion, to help make it available to every resident and business in the country. Minister for Digitisation Linda Hofstad Helleland said this will facilitate digital development and forward-looking services in every sector. The revised national budget now assigns NOK 364.1 million in broadband subsidies for 2021.
