NEW DELHI: The Centre on Friday rushed high-level teams to six states in view of higher number of Covid-19 cases being reported by them.
The two-member multi-disciplinary teams have been deployed in Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Manipur - the health ministry said in a statement.
Kerala registered 12,868 cases on Thursday, pushing the Covid caseload to 29.37 lakh as the toll mounted to 13,359 with 124 additional deaths.

As many as 11,564 people have been cured of the infection, taking the total recoveries to 28,21,151. The active cases in the state have touched 1,02,058, a state government release said.
The central teams will support the states in tackling the pandemic by effectively carrying out Covid measures management.
These teams will monitor the overall implementation of Covid-19 measures especially in testing, including surveillance and containment operations, Covid-appropriate behaviour, logistics including hospital beds, ambulances and ventilators.

In addition, they will provide suggestions for remedial actions on public health activities to the respective state governments.
As an ongoing effort to strengthen efforts of various state and Union territories (UTs) for Covid management, the central government has been deputing such teams from time to time to visit various states and UTs.
These teams interact with the state and UT authorities and get a first-hand understanding of the challenges and issues being faced by them to remove bottlenecks, if any.
