‘Shershaah’ starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani to be directed for an OTT release
According to a recent report by Pinkvilla, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Shershaah’ will head for an OTT release.

The highly anticipated film starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, ‘Shershaah’ is now apparently been headed for a release on an OTT platform. The fans will witness the action drama on Prime Video. The film has been making headlines right from the beginning of its shoot. Reportedly, due to the ongoing pandemic, the makers couldn’t push the release of the film any longer financially. Therefore, the biopic based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, the hero of Kargil War will skip the theatrical release and will be available to stream on Prime Video directly.
The film was originally scheduled to release in mid-2020. But owing to the lockdown the film’s release was delayed. As per the reports by Pinkvilla, the deal was being discussed with various OTT platforms including Netflix and Prime Video. Reportedly, Prime Video has got the deal and the movie will be premiered on it. There are speculations for the movie to release during Independence Day Weekend as the theme of the movie is patriotic.
The film revolves around the life of the Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra a Param Vir Chakra awardee. Captain Vikram Batra gave up his life for the country during the Kargil War of 1999.
The shooting for the film began back in 2019. The movie is said to be shot in several locations including Dharamshala, Leh, Manali, Chandigarh, Palampur and Kargil. Produced under the banner of Dharma Productions by Karan Johar, it’s a Vishnuvardhan directorial.
