As number of covid cases on a decline, the Utter Pradesh government has decided to ease restrictions further. The state government has decided to open cinema halls, Gym and sports stadium from Monday July 5. The schools and colleges have already been allowed to conduct non teaching activities in the state.

According to the additional chief secretary (ACS), information, Dr Navneet Sehgal, the cinema business has been severely affected in UP due to pandemic and now with situation improving, it will be allowed to function. He said that with precautions and restrictions, the cinema halls, Gym and sports stadium will open.

Besides the state government has also decided to open health ATMs in villages, small towns and cities where people may avail check up facilities through machines. At the proposed health ATMs the blood pressure, temperature, oxygen level, body mass index, blood sugar level and various other things can be checked. The state government would appoint trained technicians at these health ATMs.

ACS information said that in the last 24 hours only 133 new covid cases have been reported in the state while 2.70 lakh samples were tested. The positivity rate in UP is less than a per cent now.
