Christopher Henry Gayle is probably one of the most loved cricketers around the world. The 'Universe Boss', who has entertained one and all on and off the field provided a moment for laughs and entertainment in the fourth T20I between West Indies and South Africa in Grenada on Thursday.
West Indies were defending a score of 167, which they reached to because of skipper Kieron Pollard's quickfire knock of 51 runs off just 25 balls. After the opening over by the pacer Fidel Edwards, Pollard handed the ball to Gayle and the 41-year old made an immediate impact.
Gayle's loopy off-spinner lured Proteas opening batsman Reeza Hendricks and he missed the ball completely as the wicket-keeper Nicholas Pooran got the bails off in a flash. The replays showed that the batsman's foot was out of the crease and Gayle provided his side with the first breakthrough.
As soon as the words 'OUT" appeared on the screen, Gayle had his arms in the air and went on to do a cartwheel celebrating the wicket. He was asked what he was trying to do on the air by the commentators, Gayle replied saying that he was indeed doing a cartwheel adding that his teammates asked him to try and emulate the off-spinner Kevin Sinclair, who does a summersault every time he takes a wicket.
