
Rain and hail, along with strong winds, in several parts of Delhi, brought some respite from the ongoing heatwave on Friday evening.
Several parts of South, Central and Southeast Delhi witnessed rain around 5 pm, along with strong winds.
The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded as 41.3 degrees Celsius, five degrees above normal, but a climb down from the 43.1 degrees Celsius recorded the previous day. The minimum temperature, on Friday morning, was recorded as 27.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.
As per IMD’s forecast on Friday evening, thunderstorm and rain are expected on Saturday as well, and the temperatures are expected to be between 26 and 39 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, a possibility of thunderstorm has been forecast, with temperature ranging from 27 to 40 degrees Celsius.
The remainder of the week is expected to see light rain and thundershowers, but the maximum temperature is expected to be around 40-41 degrees Celsius.
