- On Thursday, Mutodi's wife, Leslee Dalton, announced her husband's death on Facebook, writing: "It is with great sadness that we announce that Mutodi passed this evening at 10 past 7."
- The actor and filmmaker also appeared in several TV shows, including Generations and The Queen, and appeared in five movies directed by Darrell Roodt.
South African actor Mutodi Neshehe has died. He was 46.
The South African actor is best known for his role as Ndalamo Mukwevho on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, from May 2006 to November 2008.
On Thursday, Mutodi's wife, Leslee Dalton, announced her husband's death on Facebook, captioning a statement from the Neshehe family: "It is with great sadness that we announce that Mutodi passed this evening at 10 past 7. Rest in peace Mutodi!! We love you!! I will take care of our girls like you would want me to. RIP."
"It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mutodi Neshehe on July 1, 2021. He was our brother, uncle, father, mentor, role model and actor. He will be sorely missed by his family and close friends," said the statement.
On 25 June, Leslee, in an Instagram post, said that it had been a "scary" week as Mutodi and his daughters, Alexis and Sadee, had been sick. "Mutodi is still struggling. We are living in scary times," she said.
On Monday, she wrote on Facebook: "It has been touch and go with Mutodi. He has moments when he will seem a bit better and then it gets worse again. They tried to put him in hospital yesterday but he wants to do his best to stay out if possible since the hospitals are over flowing here at the moment."
Alexis on Friday, in an Instagram post dedicated to her father, wrote: "Rip dad. I love you so much you are my world my best friend and literally everything to me. I really miss you but I guess your in a better place now."
In a statement to the press on Friday, The SABC said: "The SABC sends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and industry colleagues of Mr. Mutodi Neshehe. Mr. Neshehe will be missed for his professionalism, dedication, and commitment to the craft."
The actor and filmmaker also appeared in several TV shows, including Generations, Jacob's Cross, 7de Laan and The Queen. In film, he starred in five movies directed by Darrell Roodt and the 2016 drama Happiness is a Four-Letter Word.
In 2008 the actor was one of the eight celebrity dancers on the fourth season of SABC2's dance reality competition Strictly Come Dancing.
Mutodi Neshehe started his own production company, Mutodi Films, in 2006, and psychology and business consulting company, Alexis Consulting Solutions.
