4-day awareness campaign on Covid appropriate behaviour launched

Chennai, July 2 (UNI) A four-day awareness campaign on Covid

appropriate behavior was launched by Tamil Nadu Medical and

Family Welfare Minister Ma.Subramanian here on Friday.

The campaign was jointly organised by UNICEF, Directorate of

Public Health, Greater Chennai Corporation and Press Information

Bureau, Chennai.

Ten mini vans with posters and loudspeakers to announce Covid

Appropriate Behaviours (CAB) were flagged off by the Minister

before the event.

These vans will move around crowded residential areas and market

places in the city for the next four days during the four-day

campaign that would conclude on July five.

As part of the awareness program volunteers will also reach out to

the public with key messages to strictly adopt CAB and motivate

them to get vaccinated.

The volunteers would also distribute pamphlets to reinforce the

message urging people to wear mask, frequently wash their hands

with soap, use sanitizer and maintain physical distancing and also

avoid crowded places to control the surge of cases.

Health Secretary, Dr J Radhakrishnan, PIB Chennai ADG M Annadurai,

Director of Public Health Dr Selvavinayagam, UNICEF TN Chief Sugata,

Dr Arun Kumar, WHO, Dr V.Vijayalakshmi, JD Public Health and

B.Gurubabu, Director, PIB, Chennai also participated in the event.
