Twenty-five Yuva sena workers join NCP in Kalyan.
KALYAN: Around 25 workers of Yuva Sena, led by Shiv Sena, from Kalyan-Dombivli joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the presence of NCP's Kalyan District's Working President Vandar Patil in Kalyan.
The joining of Yuva Sena workers in NCP ahead of the KDMC election shows that parties, even though in alliance in state, are still at loggerheads with each other at the local level.
The Yuva sena workers were said to be upset with the party's local leadership in the city hence they decided to join NCP after meeting with Aditi Tatkare, Minister of Industries in state.
Vandar Patil, Working President Kalyan District of NCP told TOI, “The Yuva Sena workers wanted to join NCP and for the same they first met our senior leader and minister Aditi Tatkare in Mumbai after which they joined the party in my presence in Kalyan on Wednesday.”
Patil said, “With joining of Yuva sena workers we hope our party will perform better in the upcoming KDMC election." He further said that, “Our relationship with Shiv Sena is strong and this will not affect our relationship in city."
The move has upset Shiv Sena leaders in the city. Dipesh Mahatre, Yuva Sena leader from Dombivli said, “The NCP has done wrong by claiming our workers joined their party but reality is that our workers had just gone to meet NCP leaders. If we (Shiv Sena) do the same NCP will be finished in Kalyan-Dombivli."
