Lucknow, Jul 2 (UNI) Aam Admi Party(AAP) has alleged that Yogi Adityanath government is purchasing medical equipment through blacklisted company.
" During the first wave of Corona, the Yogi government, which had purchased oximeter and PPE kit at abnormal price, is now committing a lot of corruption in the name of saving children from Corona amid fears of the third wave. Medical equipment are being procured at almost double the market price to build 100-bedded hospitals for children in different districts, " alleged Aam Aadmi Party's state in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh at a press conference here on Friday.
Mr Singh said in the past, when the scam in the purchase of PP kits and oximeters was exposed during the first wave, an SIT was also formed to investigate it. No one knows what the outcome was, but in the meantime, in the name of saving children from the outbreak of the third wave,Yogi Adityanath government has engaged in a new scam.
Disclosing the orders given by the Chief Secretary to the principals of medical colleges and medical colleges across the state, the Rajya Sabha MP placed the evidence of the scam in front of the media.
Questioning the purchase of the medical equipment of ventilators, bicaps, infusion pumps at double the price, Mr Singh has sought clarification of the Chief Minister regarding the purchase being made by the blacklisted company of Maharashtra.
He further questioned that for how long this process of eating brokerage in the name of Corona will go on, for how long will the brokerage be eaten in the crematorium here?
Describing this purchase taking place on a large scale using an amount of about Rs58.80 crore as a big scam, Mr Singh demanded a high level inquiry into the matter.
Mr Singh described the purchase of medical equipment at two to three times high against the price fixed on the Gem portal for the purchase of equipment in the Health Department and it shows that instead of preparing for the third wave, the UP government has made preparation for corruption.
He raised questions on the intention of the Yogi government by keeping the figures of purchase of medical equipment by the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh in front of the media.
