Bill Cosby has tweeted out cherry-picked quotes from sex-attack accuser Andrea Constand to again claim his “innocence” — and gripe about being a victim of the press.
The newly freed ex-con’s latest tweet thread includes clips from Constand’s 2018 “Dateline” interview in which she detailed him bringing her “three blue pills,” recalling him telling her, “They’ll help you relax.
“They’re your friends. Just put them down,'” she recalled Cosby telling her when she asked if they were a “herbal remedy,” according to the footage posted on Cosby’s Twitter account Thursday.
“I took them because I trusted that they would maybe just help me feel a little more relaxed,” Constand told the NBC show in the video.
While the 35-second clip Cosby shared made it clear that Constand willingly took the pills, it cut out just before she said the drugs left her incapacitated — and helplessly crying out inside as he sexually assaulted her in his Pennsylvania mansion in 2004.
“I was limp — I was a limp noodle … I was in and out of consciousness,” she told the NBC show in clips not shared by Cosby.
“I was crying out inside in my throat, in my mind for this to stop, and I couldn’t do anything.”
The 83-year-old actor claimed innocence in a statement he posted along with the footage, “In response to the rhetoric that the media keeps pushing, Bill Cosby never admitted in his deposition testimony, or anywhere else, to nonconsensual sexual contact with any woman and/or the drugging of anyone — he has never admitted to spiking drinks, as the media would like you to believe.
The disgraced former “Cosby Show” star — whose sexual-assault conviction involving Constand was overturned on a legal technicality in a stunning legal decision Wednesday — added that he “has steadfastly maintained his innocence, before and after being falsely convicted of aggravated indecent assault.”
Cosby admitted in a 2005 deposition — unsealed in 2015 — that he gave Constand some Benadryl and that he also gave Quaaludes to women he wanted to have sex with, while insisting their sexual encounters were all consensual.
He only gave the deposition under oath after being promised immunity on any charges involving Constand — an offer that led to Pennsylvania’s highest court to overturn his conviction and three- to 10-year prison sentence, freeing him.
“Mainstream media has irresponsibly, egregiously and inexcusably misled the public with out of context coverage regarding Bill Cosby’s deposition testimony. This shall serve as a grave reminder of the consequences that come with lying to the American people to satisfy an agenda,” Cosby said on his Twitter page.
The thread ended with a quote from civil-rights leader Malcolm X reading, “The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.”
