Youth found dead on govt school ground in Tamil Nadu

TUTICORIN: A youth who went to play with his friends on Thursday evening was found dead on a government school ground at Tiruchendur in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu. The Tiruchendur Taluk police registered a case of murder and were conducting inquiries with his friends who had gone to play with him.
The deceased has been identified L Sivamurugan, 24, of Jeeva Nagar near Tiruchendur. He was a diploma holder and was working in a private company in Chennai. Around a month ago, he came to his native village due to lockdown. On Thursday evening, he went to play with his friends on the Tiruchendur Boys’ Higher Secondary School ground.
His mother called him on mobile phone as he did not return home till late in the evening. A friend, who answered the call, told her that he was busy playing and cut the call. His family was worried as he did not return till late at night. His brother, Mutharasan, went in search of him and found Sivamurugan dead with multiple injuries on his head.
The body was sent for postmortem.
