Edrington signs new Caribbean distribution deal

The American arm of drinks group Edrington has secured a new distribution deal in the Caribbean.

From 1 July 2021, the Edrington portfolio of brands - which includes The Macallan, Highland Park, The Glenrothes and Brugal rum - will be distributed by Distribution Spirits Company (DISC) in all markets in the Caribbean, with the exception of Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic.

Oscar Miranda, managing director, Latin America at Edrington, said: "This is an exciting development which will allow Edrington to focus its brand-building efforts and continue to expand the strategic growth of our luxury portfolio in a key region of the Americas."

DISC is a premium wine and spirits distributor catering to the Caribbean and duty free markets, with a focus on super-premium and luxury brands. Its co-founder and president, Juan Gentile, welcomed the new deal.

"We are immensely proud and delighted to be representing in the Caribbean one of the world's greatest Scotch whisky and rum portfolios," he said.

"At DISC we specialise in building brands and getting them into the hands of the right consumers; with a long-standing expertise in luxury brands, we are confident we can take Edrington brands to the next level in the Caribbean."
