MANDIRA BEDI’S HUSBAND RAJ KAUSHAL PASSES AWAY

MUMBAI: Actor Mandira Bedi’s husband and filmmaker Raj Kaushal is no more. He was 49 when he breathed his last. Confirming the shocking news on Twitter, filmmaker Onir on Wednesday morning tweeted, “Gone too soon. We lost filmmaker and producer Raj Kaushal this morning. Very Sad.”

According to reports, Raj Kaushal breathed his last on Monday morning after suffering a heart attack. He is survived by wife Mandira, son Veer and daughter Tara. Several celebrities have paid their condolences to the late star’s family.

Actor Kubbra Sait took to Twitter and expressed grief after learning about the filmmaker’s demise. “It’s a sad day. Your optimism and love with linger Raj,” she wrote.Actor Rohit Roy penned an emotional note in memory of Raj Kaushal.“One of my oldest, closest friends passes by and I can’t even be there at the funeral…can’t even see him okie last time…can’t pay my respects in person…and people think an actors job is all cushy and fun! It’s the most unenviable job in the world at times… @rajkaushal1 RIP,” he tweeted, adding he is ‘numb with grief and shock’.cRaj Kaushal had helmed projects like ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi’ and ‘Shaadi Ke Laddoo’.

VETERAN ACTOR DILIP KUMAR HOSPITALISED

MuMbai: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja hospital recently. Confirming the news to aNi, Dr Jaleel Parkar informed that the 98-year-old star is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. He refused to give any more health updates about the actor. Reportedly, Dilip Kumar was taken to the hospital after he complained of breathing issues. This is his second visit to the medical establishment in the month of June. On June 6, the veteran actor was hospitalised after a similar complaint. Dilip Kumar’s family friend has told aNi that the former’s condition is ‘stable’. However, we are still waiting for the official health update to come from Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira banu, and their spokesperson. Known as the ‘Tragedy King’ of bollywood, the veteran actor’s career spanned over six decades. He has acted in over 65 films in his career and is known for his iconic roles in movies like ‘Devdas ‘(1955), ‘Naya Daur’ (1957), ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ (1960), ‘Ganga Jamuna’ (1961), ‘Kranti’ (1981), and ‘Karma’ (1986). He was last seen in ‘Qila’ in 1998.

ANANYA PANDAY LAUNCHES ‘SOCIAL MEDIA FOR SOCIAL GOOD’ CAMPAIGN

Two years ago Ananya Panday launched ‘So Positive’, an initiative that took into cognisance cyber-bullying and the gravitas of it and today, the actress has launched ‘Social Media For Social Good’. This campaign focuses more on the importance of keep social platforms positive and healthy.

Ananya Panday took to her social media to share, “We often talk about the negative side of social media—the bullying, trolling and hatred. During the pandemic, I saw the power of people on social media—the humanity. Strangers helping strangers, sharing resources and information, saving lives. It reinforced my belief in kindness, compassion and empathy. ‘Social media for Social good’ is a series in which I’m going to be talking to some of the ‘Heroes’ of social media who have used it positively and constructively for the good of society! The actress shared, “Hi guys. Hope y’all are doing well and taking all the necessary precautions. I want to applaud all those people who’ve used social media constructively for social good. By using social media responsibly you all empowered yourselves to deal with the pandemic crisis, overcome situations and help the needy and affected in every way possible. People have helped arrange hospital beds, oxygen cylinders. Some were giving out vaccine related information while the others helped the strays, the list is endless. I’ll be interacting with some of these these social media heroes with So Positive’s new series #SocialMediaForSocialGood. Discussing the massive impact social media heroes have made when they use social media positively, for the good of society and to help other. Let’s continue to use social media for social good. Let social media be a revolution of hope, health and happiness always.”

Realising that social media was the backbone of help and was life saving during the medical emergency when other institutions failed, this new campaign launched by the young actress propagates the aim to use social media for the greater good of society. An initiative that is thought-provoking, it is for us to think that when social media is used constructively there is so much good that can happen to everyone in society. Ananya is going to celebrate all the heroes of social media who have used it for social welfare.

PRATT ON WORKING WITH SIMMONS IN ‘THE TOMORROW WAR’

WASHINGTON: Chris Pratt, ahead of the OTT release of ‘The Tomorrow War’, recalled working with the Oscar-winning actor J.K. Simmons in the movie.

“J.K. and I had been circling one another for several years, almost working together on various things, and I’m thrilled that this is the project we’re finally in together. Any time you have a heavyweight actor like J.K. join the cast you just kind of pump your fist in the air. It’s like winning a first-round draft pick,” said Chris.

The science-fiction action drama will release on Amazon Prime Video on 2 July. Chris McKay has helmed the project.

NEW DELHI: We all know that comedian Kapil Sharma is one of the TV’s highest-paid celebrities. But do you know how much he is getting per week for ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. As per reports, the actor and comedian will be taking home Rs 1 crore every week .

‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, bankrolled by Salman Khan, last aired in February, And the fans of the popular show have been waiting for a new season.

According to reports, the comedian, who used to charge close to Rs 30 lakh per episode in the previous season, will now be taking a fee hike. Apparently, for this season Kapil will be charging Rs 50 lakh an episode, bringing the week’s total to Rs 1 crore.

While these reports are not confirmed, the comedian very well deserves it as the show is quite popular and has a track record of high TRPs.

‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ will be coming back to your TV screens with a new format in July.
