Ujjain: Ritambhara, a firebrand Sadhvi who rose to fame during the Ram Mandir movement in the 1990s, defended the allegations of money laundering against the officials of the Ram Mandir Trust in the purchase of land.
Sadhvi Ritambhara had come to visit the Mahakaleshwar temple on Wednesday. She spoke to the media in the Mahakal temple premises itself. Sadhvi said that increasing population is the biggest problem for the country. Hospitals, schools and roads are falling short due to the increase in population. If the population is not controlled now, then the time to come will be like the dinosaur era, when people will start killing each other to survive, she said.
She defended the trust officials on the alleged irregularities in the land being bought for the Ram temple being built in Ayodhya. Sadhvi said that the people who are looking after the work of the trust are donors of their time and cannot do anything illegal. The work of Ram temple is the work of religion, there should not be any irregularity here. When asked to comment on ex-CM Digvijaya SinghÃs utterances against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Sadhvi refused to say anything by terming it a political issue.
Earlier, Sadhvi availed of morning darshan at Mahakaleshwar temple. She also went to the Harsiddhi temple for darshan. Finally she had darshan at Chardham temple. Later, she left for Omkareshwar.
