India's Zydus Cadila applies for emergency use nod
Indian drugmaker Zydus Cadila said on Thursday it has applied to the country's drug regulator for emergency use approval of its COVID-19 vaccine and that it plans to manufacture up to 120 million doses of the shot annually.

Jharkhand extends lockdown-like restrictions
This is the eighth time that the COVID-related restrictive measures, first imposed in the state on April 22 for a week, were extended. The ongoing curbs were scheduled to be lifted on July 1. "The provisions related to observance of the Health Safety Week in the context of Covid-19 shall stand extended from 6 am on July 1 till further orders," a state government spokesperson said.
