England add Banton to squad for final ODI against Sri Lanka

London, Jul 1 (UNI) England cricket team on Thursday added Tom Banton to their squad for the third and final ODI against Sri Lanka, to be played in Bristol on Sunday.
Banton was added to the squad as cover for Dawid Malan, who is currently absent for personal reasons.
''Tom Banton has been added to our ODI squad for the 3rd Royal London ODI with Sri Lanka,'' the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) tweeted.
The 22-year-old Banton has played six ODIs and nine T20Is for England. He strengthened his case after hitting a 47-ball century in the T20 Blast for Somerset earlier in the week.
The last time Banton featured in an ODI was against Ireland in Southampton on August 4, 2020.
Meanwhile, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes are also recovering from injury.
England currently lead the series 1-0, with the second game to be played on Thursday.
