STMicroelectronics announces share buyback programme worth over USD 1 billion

Chipmaker STMicroelectronics has announced a new share buyback worth USD 1.040 billion to be carried out over a three-year period. The company's closing share price on the NYSE on 30 June was USD 36.38. At this price, the company would be able to get 28.6 million shares, or 3.1 percent of its issued capital.
