TUTICORIN: A special team of the Tuticorin district police on Wednesday nabbed three boys aged 16 and 17 years for thefts and robberies in and around Tuticorin. According to the police, the special team spotted three teenagers attempting to steal cash from the grocery store of K Ponraj, 48, at Anna Nagar in the city. The boys were caught red-handed with iron rods and hammers with which they were trying to break open the locks and gain entry into the shop. The trio were taken to the Thoothukudi South police station. During inquiry, the police came to know that two of the boys had been involved in at least 11 other cases. The boys were booked and were lodged in a home for children in conflict with law. Superintendent of police for Tuticorin district S Jayakumar appreciated the special team for their meticulous effort in nabbing the serial juvenile offenders.
