LA-based music label founder Justin Lubliner, the twentysomething who signed hit singer Billie Eilish, was spotted house hunting on the Lower East Side, where a $6 million unit at 199 Chrystie St. caught his eye.
The 14-story building was designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, who made his name designing interiors for the city’s first supertall building on Billionaire’s Row, 157 W. 57 St., more than a decade ago before moving on to the High Line.
This is his first Lower East Side project. It’s made up of 14 “interlocked villas” overlooking Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
The three-bedroom, 3½-bathroom unit is 2,440 square feet.
It features a double-height, 18-foot ceiling, wide-plank oak floors, and oversize double-pane windows.
The main bedroom and the living area open to balconies that total 140 square feet.
The building also features an $18.35 million, five-bedroom penthouse — with its very own plunge pool, outdoor kitchen and firepit on its rooftop terrace.
“The site itself and its surroundings are the DNA that establishes the aesthetic and form of the building,” Juul-Hansen says.
“The architecture here on the Lower East Side is a little bit edgier, and more rock ‘n’ roll than in the other neighborhoods.”
Both are listed by Ryan Serhant and Nathan Frank, of Serhant.

Speaking of musical talent, Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Ashanti, a Glen Cove, New York, native who was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, dropped by Garvies Point last Friday in her hometown for a ribbon-cutting at the Beacon condo with RXR Realty’s Scott Rechler and Douglas Elliman honchos Howard Lorber and Susan de França.
