A few hours ago, a rumor from IT Home surfaced, stating the upcoming Nokia X60 will run Huawei’s latest HarmonyOS 2.0. But, later a tweet from Global Times rebutted it by citing what Huawei has informed the publication on Wednesday.

According to its tweet, “Huawei has denied media reports saying that #Nokia’s new handsets will use its #HarmonyOS and said the news are false."

So, if the report is true, whatever we heard yesterday isn’t converting into a reality, well, at least, not anytime soon. It is possible that in the future, HMD Global might consider HarmonyOS over Android but it is too soon to comment on the same, and that too without any meaty information.

The previous rumor, however, also talked about the possible specifications of the purported Nokia X60 phone. The rumor stated the device will feature a 200MP rear camera, an elephantine-sized 6000mAh battery, and a 144Hz display. Well, the specifications sound quite beefy. Currently, we do not have any substantial proof that could back this up. If such a device really exists, we may learn about it in the coming days.

Last month, Huawei officially announced that the HarmonyOS will be available for third-party consumer products as well, other than smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and IoT products. After all, Huawei has set a goal of making its newest OS available on 300M devices by the end of 2021. This figure doesn’t depict Huawei products alone, products from its partners are also included. It is, however, unknown what third-party companies have picked this up for their upcoming products. Let’s see we might get more insights on the same in the coming days.
