Nemawar quintuple homicide: MP CM assures speedy justice

Bhopal, July 1 (UNI) Describing Dewas District’s Nemawar incident as “extremely unfortunate,” Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday assured that the case would be taken up by a fast-track court.

“All the culprits behind the heinous act are in the police net and shall not be spared,” the senior politician conveyed via social media.

The episode rapidly assumed political hues with Congress state President and erstwhile chief minister Kamal Nath constituting a five-member committee for visiting Nemawar, gathering details from the locals and aggrieved family and submitting a report. The team is headed by former minister Sajjan Singh Verma – who represented Dewas in the 15th Lok Sabha – and includes Youth Congress state head Vikrant Bhuria, Bhikangaon legislator Jhuma Solanki, District Congress President (Rural) Ashok Patel and local leader Mukesh Saran.

Shockwaves went across the Nemawar pilgrim destination as news spread of corpses of five tribal family members being found buried at a nearby farm as a consequence of a love affair gone horribly wrong.

The fivesome went missing about one-and-a-half months back. The needle of suspicion pointed at Nemawar-resident Surendra and his relative Bheru. Questioning of the duo in custody resulted in the sensational disclosure and the bodies were exhumed on Tuesday.

Law-enforcement officers said that a few others are in custody.

Rupali (20) had an affair with Surendra but their relationship became strained after his marriage was fixed somewhere else. The woman was called to a desolate place but she smelt a rat and reached there with her two younger sisters, brother plus their mother. A dispute ensued leading to the murders.
