Today, in the EV segment in India,
e-rickshaw enjoys a majority share. E-rickshaw offers affordable and convenient
last mile shared-mobility solutions and also offers employment to rickshaw
pullers, migrant workers, auto drivers, and youth in rural areas. It is also a
good alternative to transportation in small towns and cities. ELE e-rickshaw
owners can save up to Rs 2/Km when compared with the traditional auto-rickshaw.
This is because of the hike in the prices of fuel. It is also reported that ELE
e-rickshaws are amongst the top three brands in the organized segment. Ampere
has been able to sell 10,000 e-rickshaws since its inception and has clocked
more than 374 million-plus e-Kilometres.
According to the results of Q4, FY 21, ELE
e-rickshaw has seen a growth of 104% as compared with the similar data of last
year. It is also expected that the demand will increase in the North and
North-East India market. Close to 165 dedicated e-rickshaw dealers are spread
across the nation. The company is now focusing on online touchpoints to enhance
ease and accessibility.
Under the expansion drive, the company has
come up with a new initiative, wherein fast-tracked and newcomers will get
special support. The company will also offer e-rickshaws for fleet and cargo operations.
