MUMBAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP) MLC
Gopichand Padalkar's car was allegedly attacked with a big stone in
Maharashtra's
Solapur.
The incident took place when Padalkar along with some other members was returning from a meeting at Mate Vasti in Solapur.
The attack comes just two days after he launched a scathing attack on Sharad Pawar, saying, he doesn't believe that the
NCP chief is a big (leader) and since his childhood, he had been hearing that
Sharad Pawar is the 'future prime minister' of India.
In a video posted by Padalkar, a youth can be seen throwing a big stone on the windscreen before fleeing. However, nobody from the vehicle was injured.
The MLC alleged that the attack was an attempt to suppress my voice. "Tomorrow, if I am shot, I will not go back on this issue (OBC reservation)," he told a news agency.
"Such attacks could not suppress the voice of the Bahujans yesterday and it won't suppress today or tomorrow," said Padalkar posting a photo of NCP leader Rohit Pawar along with the youth.
Speaking to a news channel, Padalkar said, "Soon after the attack, the video/photos were posted on the Facebook pages where various views about the NCP, MVA were shared."
He also alleged that the worker who attacked is very close to Pawar and he is seen with Pawar in various photos, adding, "What else is needed to say? It is clear that NCP worker has done it," Padalkar added.
