Lucknow, Jul 1 (UNI) Former BJP Uttar Pradesh MP Sharad Tripathi passed away at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Wednesday night. He was 50.
According to family sources, he was suffering from liver-related problems.
Union Cabinet Minister for Textiles and Women & Child Development Smriti Irani condoled his demise.
"Deeply saddened. It seems that Sharad will speak now: let's go Didi, we have to organise a program in the area. He has left us, may be this was the will of the Lord. May his soul find eternal peace," the Union Minister tweeted in Hindi.
Uttar Pradesh state BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh also mourned his demise.
Tripathi was elected from Sant Kabir Nagar constituency in 2014.
