Seven European Union nations have cleared those vaccinated with the Serum Institute of India manufactured Covishield vaccine for travel 'green passes'. This includes Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Greece, Iceland, Ireland and Spain. The EU as a whole however does not consider the Indian edition of the AstraZeneca-Oxford jab to be a part of the vaccine passport list.

"Versions of EU-approved vaccines approved abroad (original or licensed productions) are equivalent to the mentioned EU-approved vaccines for proof of vaccination protection," said a German Embassy spokesperson.

Further details awaited.
