India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted that northwest India including Punjab, Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan and northwest Madhya Pradesh are likely to report a rise in temperature by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius for the next two days. Let’s Hope like the IMD’s rain declarations, their heatwave prediction also lands in a dud.
IMD said due to the influence of the dry westerly and southwesterly winds from Pakistan, the cities and states likely to witness a rise in temperature by 3 to 4 degrees.
According to the weather department, the present atmospheric features in these regions are not favourable for the advancement of the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, the Met department said, heavy rainfall is likely over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, Sikkim and other part in northeastern states in upcming 5 to 6 days.
