A number of officers from various Ministry of Interior (MoI) departments participated in the course, which lasted for five weeks.

The Police Training Institute celebrated the graduation of the founding course on explosives on Wednesday in the presence of Maj Gen Dr Abdullah Yusuf al-Maal, adviser to HE the Minister of Interior and vice-chairman of the Police College Supreme Committee. A number of officers from various Ministry of Interior (MoI) departments participated in the course, which lasted for five weeks. The course included introduction to explosives, dealing with them and practical training in designated detonation fields, the MoI said in a tweet. During the course, international standards set by the United Nations, including quality management for mine and explosives work, health and safety, risk management and other training topics that comply with international standards for issuing the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Level 1 certificate, were discussed. At the end of the ceremony, HE al-Maal distributed certificates to the graduates and presented a commemorative shield to the Arab Advisory Team for Mine Action.
