KOLKATA: The results of
TET examination will be published before the Puja, said West Bengal Board of Primary Education president Manik Bhattacharya on Wednesday. The schedule and the mode of counselling will be published on the board website next Tuesday. Accordingly, the recruitment on the basis of merit will be done. Before that the answers of the question paper will also be published.
Nearly 2.5 lakh candidates had appeared for the TET before the outbreak of the second wave of the pandemic, said Bhattacharya.
Earlier, chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced last week that 24,500 teachers would be recruited for primary and higher secondary schools across the state. Bandyopadhyay said that as per the announcement of the CM, the recruitment could be completed before the puja.
Bhattacharya said that a total of 10,500 candidates would undergo counselling for recruitment at the primary level. The counselling of 2014 TET candidates, which had been stuck for all these years in a legal tussle, would be taken up from next Tuesday.
The CM had earlier announced that the appointment process to fill up at least 14,000 vacancies in the upper primary level (Classes V-VIII) and 10,500 in the primary level (Classes I-IV) will be completed before puja in October. Around 7,500 more posts for primary teachers will be filled up by March 2022, Banerjee said.
