Mandira Bedi's husband Raj Kaushal passes away; Neha Dhupia, Rohit Bose Roy, Onir and other celebrities mourn his demise

Raj was the producer of films such as 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi' (1999), 'Shaadi Ka Laddoo' (2004), 'My Brother… Nikhil' (2005).

On Wednesday morning, actor and television presenter Mandira Bedi's husband, filmmaker-produced breathed his last. Kaushal died due to cardiac arrest. 

The news came as a shock to the industry who has lost several gems in the last more than a year. 

Soon after the news of Raj Kaushal's death broke, celebrities extended their condolences and paid their tributes to the late filmmaker. 

Sharing a photo from their party on Sunday (June 27), Neha wrote a touching note which read, "Raj, we took this picture to create more and more memories… can’t believe you are nt with us anymore … Mandira , my strong strong girl, I am at a loss of words. "This is unbelievable…. Numb with grief and shock One of our closest …….," actor Rohit Bose Roy wrote on Twitter. He also penned a long note on Instagram alongside a photo with Raj from their younger days. "One of the nicest guys you could ever have met… and if u were lucky, u could have called him your friend… and just like that, he’s gone, even without saying good bye too numb with grief and shock to react… This is not fair, just not fair…Raj, my friend, my brother… keep spreading the cheer where ever your next abode is… Knowing your penchant for good homes, I am sure you are looking for a good spot in heaven RIGHT NOW!We all loved you dearly and you know that … unfortunately, we kept saying next week next week and that week never came See you on the other side my bro….Till we raise hell again, REST IN PEACE @rajkaushal," Rohit wrote on Instagram.

"Gone too soon. We lost film-maker and producer @rajkaushal1 this morning. Very Sad. He was one of the producers of my first film #MyBrotherNikhil. "One of those few who believed in our vision and supported us. Prayers for his soul," Onir wrote on Twitter paying his tributes.

"Deeply saddened!! One of the nicest people I knew!! Gone too soon my friend @rajkaushal1! RIP," Divya Dutta wrote on Twitter. 

"#RajKaushal #tooearly  May he rest in peace...Some fond memories. .And that's what you re left with..," tweeted Gaurav Chopra. 

Raj Kaushal and Mandira Bedi got married on February 14, 1999. The couple has a son named Vir, who was born in 2011 and in October 2020, they adopted a girl child of 4 years, naming her Tara Bedi Kaushal.

Raj was the producer of films such as 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi' (1999), 'Shaadi Ka Laddoo' (2004), 'My Brother… Nikhil' (2005). He directed a few films including 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi', 'Shaadi Ka Laddoo' and 'Anthony Kaun Hai'.
