Madhya Pradesh School Education minister Inder Singh Parmar’s response to a parents’ union have shocked them as the minister told them to Go die when they complained about high fees in schools. A parents’ union in Bhopal had gone to Parmar to consult him about overcharging by schools and what should be done if the education department refused to hear their appeal. The minister responded shockingly by telling them Maro Jao (Go die).
The parents and the state’s opposition Congress have demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to sack Parmar if he doesn’t resign on his own.
Around 90-100 parents under the banner of Madhya Pradesh Palak Mahasangh had gone to meet the Education Minister at his official residence in Bhopal. The parents alleged that schools were charging hefty fees in violation of the High Court order, asking schools to only charge tuition fees during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The parents requested the minister to step in and help bring down the charges, saying they were finding it difficult to meet the costs due to incomes impacted by the pandemic. When asked about what should be done if the school education department refused to accept their plea, the minister gave a shocking response

Palak Mahsangh’s president Kamal Vishwakarma said the minister should apologize to the parents and resign if he is not willing to listen to their pleas.
Congress spokesperson Narendra Saluja said a minister is a shameless person and should be sacked immediately. The parents’ union went to meet him for relief, but he showed an irresponsible attitude, he added.
