Chirag Paswan meets ex-aide of PM Modi in Ahmedabad

PATNA: Jamui MP Chirag Paswan reportedly met senior BJP leader and former aide of PM Narendra Modi, Parindu Bhagat, in Ahmedabad on Monday, giving credence to speculations that he is still hoping for a response from the man whom he had described as ‘Ram’.
Sources in the LJP said Chirag visited the office of the BJP stalwart, held a closed-door meeting with him and left for New Delhi. What transpired between the two leaders is not known, but one thing is sure that Chirag wanted to send a message about his future plans to PM Narendra Modi through him.
The development came on a day when posters with PM Modi’s picture and slogans like ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’ were put up in different parts of Patna. The posters were released by LJP (Chirag faction) media cell incharge Krishna Singh Kallu.
The Jamui MP has already announced to launch ‘ashirvad yatra’ from Hajipur, the seat earlier represented by his father Ram Vilas Paswan eight times in the Parliament. Hajipur is country represented in Lok Sabha by Chirag’s uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras.
State president of Chirag faction of LJP, Raju Tiwari, said, “We are busy in preparations for the birth anniversary celebration of Ram Vilas Paswanji on July 5. The main function will be held at Sultanpur, a Dalit hamlet near Hajipur in Vaishali district.
A meeting was held at S K Puri residence of Chirag to assess the preparations for July 5 event.
On the other hand, LJP’s Paras faction said over 20,000 workers would attend the birthday celebration of late Ram Vilas Paswan at the party’s main office in Patna on July 5. Some leaders from other states will also attend the function.
Spokesperson of the party’s Paras faction, Shravan Agrawal, said apart from four MPs, former MPs, former MLAs and former candidates would attend the function. He, however, added that Covid guidelines would be strictly followed at the event.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Saraf, a senior functionary of Paras faction, said Chirag has no role in any decision about LJP’s representation in the Union cabinet.
